Getting Your Wildflower Puppy
Price & Availability
Wildflower puppies are $2,800 (updated 12/1/2025). We currently have availability for puppies going home in Spring 2026.
We breed thoughtfully and infrequently, which means there's typically a wait for a Wildflower puppy. The families who have been on our waiting list tell us it's worth it.
How to Get a Puppy
1. Get in Touch
Contact us by phone at 303-670-2221 or email at wildflowerhavanese@gmail.com. We'll discuss the Havanese breed, answer your questions, and talk about what you're looking for in a puppy. This is a conversation – we want to make sure a Havanese is the right fit for your family, and that Wildflower is the right breeder for you.
2. Complete an Application
If it seems like a good match, we’ll ask you to fill out our application. This detailed questionnaire helps us understand your lifestyle, experience, and what you're hoping for in your new companion. The information you provide is essential for temperament matching later on.
3. Join the Wait List
Once we've reviewed your application and confirmed that a Wildflower Havanese will thrive in your home, you'll pay a non-refundable deposit to reserve your spot. We'll contact you when we're expecting a litter and again after the puppies are born to confirm we have one for you. The more flexible you are about color, markings, and sex, the sooner you're likely to get your puppy. Your specific puppy is selected after temperament testing at seven weeks.
4. Watch Your Puppy Grow
You'll receive regular photos and updates as your puppy’s litter grows. We love sharing this exciting time with our puppy families.
5. Meet Your Match
At seven weeks old, each puppy undergoes temperament testing with Aubrey Suter of Balance Canine. These tests give us detailed insight into each puppy's personality, energy level, and behavioral tendencies.
We don't place puppies on a first-come, first-served basis or let families pick based on looks. Instead, we carefully match each puppy to the family whose lifestyle, experience, and goals best suit that individual puppy's temperament. We take your preferences (gender, color, energy level) into account, but our priority is ensuring a successful, lifelong match.
A high-energy, confident puppy might go to an active family hoping to do dog sports, while a calm, cuddly pup might be perfect for a quiet household. The more flexible you can be about gender and color, the easier it is for us to find you the perfect temperament match.
After testing is complete, we'll let you know which puppy is yours and why we think they're the perfect fit.
6. Take Your Puppy Home
Puppies go home at eight weeks old, healthy, well-loved, and current on their first vaccinations. If you're not quite ready or want your puppy to have additional socialization and training, puppies can also begin our Stay & Play program.
7. Puppy Kindergarten
By contract, all Wildflower families are required to attend six weeks of puppy kindergarten with their new Havanese. This sets your puppy up for success and gives you the tools and support you need during those important early months.
Companion vs. Show Puppies
Most of our puppies are placed as companions, which means they cannot be bred and must be spayed or neutered by nine months of age to prevent accidental breeding.
Show puppy placements are rare and require a legal contract outlining co-ownership and the requirements for finishing a championship and completing health testing.
Our Promise
Every Wildflower puppy comes to their new home healthy, well-socialized, and deeply loved. We've spent eight weeks getting to know them, and we're committed to helping you build a wonderful life together.
All Wildflower Havanese come with a satisfaction and health guarantee. Additionally, should you ever need to surrender your dog for any reason, we will take them back and ensure they find a loving new home.
